I grew up in Florence, went to Clemson, and have spent most of my life in rooms where not everybody looked like me. My story handed me this work. I didn't pick it off a list.
Now I'm in Charleston, on staff at Grace City Church and co-leading Mosaic, our multiethnic small groups ministry. I'm an IDI-qualified cultural intelligence practitioner, a coffee guy, and married to Ellie. Still in process. On purpose.
What I Care About
Food and coffee are how I bring people close. Culture and race are about who gets a seat. The church is the family table. Emotional health is what lets you stay there when it gets hard. That's the whole thing, really.
Cultural intelligence, reconciliation, and the long, honest work of building across racial lines. Not a panel you forget by Monday.
What it looks like to belong to a church full of people unlike you. One new humanity, not a coalition of separate ones.
EQ, emotional health, identity, formation. The stuff underneath the stuff, which ends up deciding how we show up for each other.
Food, coffee, hospitality. The ordinary places where trust gets built long before anybody names it.
